I had an amazing few days in Mogadishu! I happened to arrive on Somalia’s Independence Day (July 1) and stumbled upon a celebration. Also, while eating breakfast one morning, I met a member of parliament and he invited me to visit the Ministry of Tourism and Information. The Ministry shares the campus with Somalia’s National TV and Radio station. They ended up recording a special with me about tourism coming back to Somalia . If you are looking to go to Mogadishu, I highly recommend my tour guide, from SAHAN TOURISM COMPANY! He did an awesome job of keeping me safe but also allowing me to get out of the car and walk around Mogadishu.

After travelling and running in many countries around the world, coming to Mogadishu and running the Mogadishumarathon was an absolute exceptional trip and an absolute special run!
